Register with ASPDP
In order to take this course you must first go to the After School Professional Development Program (ASPDP) website https://pci.nycenet.edu/ASPDP/ (opens in a new window) and select, enroll and pay for the course.

Once you login to the site, click on the course catalog button and then scroll down to “Intervention” courses to find “Conscious Classroom Management: Succeeding with Difficult Students.” The course code will begin P2-80----.

After registering and paying through ASPDP, return to this window and click on the “register now” link at the left. From there, follow the registration directions for “New York Public School Teachers.”

Course Cost
$124.00

Course Credit
The course cost includes the registration fee of $124 and the ASPDP fee of $125. The successful completion of the course will earn you 36 professional development hours and 3 "P" credits.. Once your coursework has been completed, reviewed, and approved, a course facilitator will notify the director of ASPDP so that a certificate of completion can be sent to you and your units conferred.

Session Start and End Dates:

This course is usually offered three times per year- in the spring, summer, and fall. The course is online and self-paced, but in order to receive credit all course work must be completed before the specified end date for the session in which you enroll. Begin and end dates can vary slightly from year to year but in general they adhere to the following schedule:

• Spring Session:             February - June
• Summer Session:          July - August
• Fall Session:                 September - December

Additional Materials
After registering, there are no extra materials required to complete this course. Excerpts from Rick Smith’s book, Conscious Classroom Management, and any other required reading will be embedded and downloadable inside the course itself. However, we strongly recommend that you purchase the book if you do not already have one. Click here to purchase book. It is an excellent resource and a terrific form of on-going support once you have completed the course. In addition, only short excerpts will be available through the course, whereas the book has much more to offer.
